Shrooms takes a fresh and very different approach to the survival and exploration genre.To survive, it doesn't just matter what you craft or the items you have, it also matters who you are!Experimenting with different combinations of plants and mushrooms, figuring out what they do and how can you use them, seeing how they affect your cute character and the beautiful environment wich you are in... Can't wait for more!Keep in mind that this is an Early Acess game and if you don't know what that means then read about it here .The game has a lot of potential and I can't wait to see what kind of updates and new features will be rolling out soon.. Very cool but very rough Early Acess game. It's a typical open world survival game in the same vein as Minecraft and Rust, but with the unique mechanic of beng able to mutate your character with various fungi and give them special abilities.So far, the game doesn't expalin any of its mecahnics which makes things confusing- I can't figure out what mutations give me what abilities and how to activate them, and I have no idea how to restore my health (I think eating some food restores it but some doesn't???). [There is actually a guide to the game that the devloper helpfully linked to in the comments for this review, qhich certainly helps.] The game has a crafting system, but it's limited so far and there's a laggy minigame involved that doesn't really seem to affect the outcome. It's also very easy to die accidentally, whether by starving to death (there's a food meter under your health meter, and when that runs out you die instantly) or by the angry panthers that will chase you across the entire map.All that said, still a neat game, interesting unique mechanics, cool environment to mess around in, all in all a promising foundation, very clearly in alpha but with a lot of potential.. It had good potential but seems to have been abandoned since. It hasn't been updated for about 3 years (as of now)Mechanic wise it was a good concept where what you ate helped you to survive and adapt better in the enviroment.However there's not much to do or to see in the game and there's not much to figure out as there's very few enemies and adaptations to try.I still have hope that it'll be updated in the future, but as it stands. Either wait for it to go on sale or to be gifted to you (most likely by someone who doesn't like you cause of how under-developed the game is.) but don't waste your money paying full price for it right now.. game need a lot of work but i hope for the best the idea is fresh and intresting but at the moment i write this review there was no update for more than 5 months we will see..
